Note the Prescott house currently the Black Swan Inn was built after the Civil War. A yearly reenactment of the Battle used to take place each September the 18th or the closest Weekend to the 18th. The event was not held in 2001 or 2002. Check thier link San Antonio Living History Association to see if they plan to have the event at a future day.
The Black Swan Inn is located at 1006 Holbrook Rd on the Salado Creek.
Directions to the Battle field
Heading East on I-35 from San Antonio, take the Eisenhauer exit. Cross back under the Freeway headed North until you reach Holbrook, take a left on Holbrook. The Creek runs parallel to Holbrook. about 1 mile on your left is the Inn. The Battle Ground Historical Marker is to the North of the Inn on the Rd.

The 1999 Reenactment of the Battle of Salado Creek was presented in an open field adjacent to the Black Swan Inn, the battle re-enactment used authentic flintlock muskets, rifles, and cannons. The men dressed in their respective uniforms or clothing. Historical encampments were open to the public with living history demonstrations. Lectures of historical note preceded the re-enactments of both the Battle of Salado Creek and Dawson Creek Massacre. Parking was free with a small admission charge.
